Did you know that in the United States alone, an average of 1 in 8 women and 1 in 1,000 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime? With many different approaches for treatment, what happens behind closed doors when a patient’s team of doctors must determine the next best steps? On October 23, go behind the scenes of a Tumor Board meeting as a panel of local medical experts discuss how and why certain treatment decisions are made. In mock case studies, these radiologists, surgeons and oncologists will use medical imagery and conversation to highlight their multi-discipline approach to breast cancer treatment. Come learn with us as we honor Breast Cancer Awareness month at the Pacific Science Center.
This event has been approved for 2.0 Continuing Education credits through the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT).
